Sony Pictures India appoints Shony Panjikaran as Head of Marketing
Panjikaran will report to Vivek Krishnani, Managing Director of Sony Pictures Entertainment India
Shony Panjikaran has been appointed as the Marketing Director, Sony Pictures India (SPE Films India). In his new role, he will be heading marketing and promotions across Sony Picture Entertainment India’s local and Hollywood slate in India. Panjikaran is one of the leading marketing professionals in the film industry with an enviable track record that spans over 200 films across English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu enabling him to have a cross cultural view of promoting and marketing films for a diverse set of audiences.
His appointment is in sync with Sony Picture Entertainment India’s strategy to aggressively ramp up its local production and distribution slate even as it continues to successfully market and distribute its Hollywood titles. Panjikaran will report to Vivek Krishnani, Managing Director of Sony Pictures Entertainment India.
Speaking on the appointment, Vivek Krishnani, Managing Director- SPE says “I am delighted to welcome Shony to the Sony Pictures’ team. Shony joins Sony Pictures India from Fox Star Studios, where he worked as Senior Vice President, Marketing, he managed the Hollywood portfolio with films such as 'Avatar', 'Deadpool', 'Life of Pi' and the 'X-Men' franchise. He also spear-headed the strategy and media campaign for blockbuster Indian films like 'Sanju' and ‘Baaghi 2' amongst others.
