Livspace, the Indian home interiors and renovation platform, has announced that Kartikeya Bhandari has been appointed as its first-ever Chief Marketing Officer. In his new role, Kartikeya will lead Livspace’s overall brand, marketing and demand generation efforts and as the company gears up to enter its next phase of growth and expansion.

Formerly, Bhandari was serving as Flipkart’s Senior Marketing Director where, among other projects, he led the marketing strategy and launch of the immensely successful Big Billion Days. Prior to Flipkart, he has worked with Nokia in multiple Sales and Marketing roles in both India and Finland. At Livspace, Bhandari, an IIM Calcutta alumnus, will be reporting into the company’s CEO, Anuj Srivastava. His tasks will include building on the company’s success and spearheading its evolution into a brand of national and global repute. With newer markets, doubling its retail footprint and entering new product categories on the horizon, the company believes this to be an opportune time to bring a veteran marketing leader on board.

Speaking on his new role, Bhandari said, “I am greatly impressed with what Livspace has achieved in such a short period of time. The company has truly disrupted the home design space. Livspace makes getting interiors easy. They not only offer end-to-end interiors but also lead the category in modular-only solutions. This opens up an endless gamut of possibilities for the brand and I believe there are a lot of exciting things that are on the anvil for Livspace. I am excited to be part of that journey with the company.”

Commenting on the appointment, Anuj Srivastava, CEO and Co-founder of Livspace said, “We are thrilled to welcome Kartikeya on board as our first CMO. Oneindia Founder and Managing Director, BG Mahesh, calls it quits

In an email to his colleagues, Mahesh wrote about his 13 year stint at Greynium and expressed gratitude towards his employees

BG Mahesh

BG Mahesh, Founder & Managing Director of Greynium Information Technologies Pvt Ltd a company that owns India’s multi lingual platform Oneindia.com, part of the Daily Hunt group, has moved out of the company.

In an email to his colleagues, Mahesh wrote, “after 13 amazing years at Greynium, I have decided to move on. It has been a very long and fruitful journey for me personally at Greynium.”

He wrote, “I still recall the early days of 2006 when we built Oneindia from scratch. We started off with about 50 employees in a very beaten up office. The online advertising revenue was very less during those days but yet we were a happy lot. Everyone knew everybody, the offline social networking amongst us was very strong so it was difficult to keep secrets!”

“What started off as a hobby site by me in the early-1990s has come a long way! We introduced Indian languages way back in 2000 (most of you were kids at that time). It was fun working on the strategy & execution with many of you. The results of our work can clearly be seen. We are an enviable property in the internet space today. Credit goes to each of you for the rise of Oneindia,” wrote Mahesh.

Speaking about the milestones of the company he wrote, “There were many milestones in this journey, very difficult to pick the favorites. The first significant milestone was when Comscore ranked us #4 in the country! We pinched ourselves to ensure we were not dreaming.”

“I can proudly say Oneindia was the first non-funded internet company in India to achieve profitability. This was one of the toughest and most satisfying tasks for us. If I had to pick one feature of Oneindia that made us successful & survive various challenges, it would be Indian languages. Our offerings were unique from the day of the launch. We set the bar in the Indic space,” wrote Mahesh.

He thanked his colleagues and Sriram Hebbar, CEO, Greynium Technologies. “I would like to thank each of you for your valuable contribution. Many of you have been working with me since 1999 and 2000 (the founding Editors of Oneindia). I am particularly thankful to Sriram Hebbar for working with me to build Oneindia to what it is today. I am very proud of what has been achieved at Greynium. I will cherish my days at Greynium forever,” concluded Mahesh.

Publicis Sapient announces new global rebrand and CEO

Announcements signify moves to advance Publicis Sapient’s position as leader in digital business transformation space

nigel vaz

Publicis Sapient has made two major announcements regarding the positioning of the company for growth through a focus on global digital business transformation opportunities.

Publicis Sapient has unveiled a global rebrand and announced the appointment of Nigel Vaz as the global Chief Executive Officer of Publicis Sapient.

These announcements are designed to advance Publicis Sapient’s position as a leader in the digital business transformation space and deliver consistency across global markets and industries. Further, they signal Publicis Groupe’s on-going commitment to placing consulting, creativity and technology at the service of our clients’ transformation, to advance their business performance and sustained market relevance during a time of unprecedented digital disruption.

Publicis Sapient acknowledges that the market has been talking about Digital Business Transformation for some years now but most brands are now just realising the full value.
While a vast majority of companies today are still focusing on “digital bolt-on” strategies, meaning adding new digital technology to their existing businesses (Digitisation), very few companies are actually disrupting their businesses or reimagining the future of their businesses (Business Model Innovation), which is the holy grail of Digital Business Transformation.

The focus on the former (Digitisation strategy) by most brands and their partners (service providers in their transformation journey) are tied to their current business state only which in reality needs a significant paradigm shift and a fundamentally different approach to help thrive in the future.

The important element in transforming any business from its current to future state needs a fundamentally “different approach” which we, at Publicis.Sapient are committed to delivering for our clients. This “different approach” is the “HOW” or the space between Next (future state) and Now (current state) that brands needs to do to become digitally enabled and competitive to lead in the future.

Publicis Sapient revised its brand proposition positions itself as the bold (creative), agile, disruptive, customer-centric partner that organisations need today to help them lead in the future.
