Havas Media named global media agency for TripAdvisor
The account will be handled from Havas Media's US office; agency to manage campaigns across North America and other international markets
Havas Media has been named as the global media agency for travel platform TripAdvisor, following a months' long review, according to news reports. The account will be handled from Havas Media's US office and will include managing campaigns across North America and other international markets. Before this, Havas Edge handled TripAdvisor's US media business, while its sister agency, All Response Media handled the UK account.
With the partnership, TripAdvisor will leverage Havas' position within Vivendi to tap into talent such as Universal Music Group, in a move that is aimed at strengthening engagement with “new audiences of increasingly mobile and millennial travelers" through content offerings, membership opportunities, and integrated sponsorship experiences.
According to reports, Peter Mears, Global Chief Executive of Havas Media Group, commented on the association saying, "We’re thrilled to have been named TripAdvisor’s media agency-of-record at such an exciting time for the organisation."
He continued, “The opportunity to demonstrate not only the skills within Havas Media to build more meaningful brands, but to do that in combination with the power of Vivendi with music, gaming, publishing, and live experiences is testament to the uniqueness of our position in the market.”
TripAdvisor is also currently holding a review for its creative business.
