The Draftfcb Ulka Group is holding a prayer meeting on Thursday, January 19, 2012 between 5 and 6 pm at Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan, Chavan Centre, General Jagannath Bhosale Marg, Nariman Point, Mumbai.
Mundkur, a doyen of Indian advertising and Founder of Ulka Advertising (now Draftfcb Ulka) succumbed to a heart attack on Saturday, January 7, 2012 in Goa. He was 86.
Besides having been active in the advertising industry, Mundkur was one of the founding members of the Ad Club Bombay and was active in the social space, having been instrumental in reviving Asiatic Society Library, restoration of Afghan Church, and setting up of a cerebral palsy unit, among others. More recently, he conceptualised and published the ‘Ad Katha’, the story of Indian advertising, which was launched at AdAsia 2011 in Delhi.
