Indian Express appoints Pavita Puri as Group Brand Head
Indian Express has roped in Pavita Puri as Group Brand Head. She will be reporting to Shekhar Gupta, Editor-in-Chief, Indian Express. Puri will work on developing and re-energising the brands of the Indian Express Group. Her last stint was with Lowe for a year as Vice-President, where she was handling brands like Maruti and DishTV.

Indian Express has roped in Pavita Puri as Group Brand Head. She will be reporting to Shekhar Gupta, Editor-in-Chief, Indian Express. Puri will work on developing and re-energising the brands of the Indian Express Group. Her last stint was with Lowe for a year as Vice-President, where she was handling brands like Maruti and DishTV.
Commenting on Puri’s appointment, Shekhar Gupta said, “Pavita joins us at a crucial time when we are making substantial investments in our brands, following a year of across-the-board upgradation in our technology and printing facilities. With her track record, I am sure she will be able to lead and strategise the development of our various, and already formidable, brands like The Indian Express, The Financial Express, Loksatta, Jansatta.”
On her new role, Puri said, “The Indian Express Group is a highly respected institution. The hi-voltage competitive media environment mandates that the Group re-energises and re-invents its products, so as to provide its readers an incisive, relevant world view every morning. I look forward to being a part of this change.”
Puri has 14 years’ experience of which 12 were with Rediffusion DYR. Her last designation at Rediffusion DYR was AVP. She was heading the Airtel business in the agency.
