FIPP sets up Asia Pacific Council headed by Aroon Purie

The FIPP Board has approved the formation of its Asia Pacific Council to advise the Board on existing and proposed FIPP events and activities in the region. Aroon Purie, Chairman of the India Today Group, will chair the council.

FIPP sets up Asia Pacific Council headed by Aroon Purie

The FIPP Board recently approved the formation of its Asia Pacific Council. Aroon Purie, Chairman of the India Today Group, has been selected to chair the council. The Council has been created to advise the FIPP Board on existing and proposed FIPP events and activities in the region.

When contacted by exchange4media, Purie said, “The purpose of the Asia Pacific Council is to advise the FIPP Management Board regarding existing and proposed FIPP events and activities in the region, which will include all Asian countries from the Arabian Gulf Eastwards, together with Australasia and the Pacific Islands.”

When asked about the rest of the Asia Pacific Council members, Purie said, “The full panel is in the process of being formed. At the moment, it comprises only the members of the FIPP Management Board belonging to the Asia Pacific Region, numbering eight. Other non-board FIPP members will be selected from various countries of the region.”

As Vice-Chairman of the FIPP Management Board, Purie is the senior-most member from the Asia Pacific region on the Board.
