Duncan Painter, a veteran of data-driven and business-to-business enterprises, has been appointed CEO of Omni and Flywheel Commerce Network following the recent Omnicom–IPG merger announcement. Painter brings decades of experience, having previously served as chief executive of Flywheel, acquired by Omnicom from Ascential for $900 million in 2023—and leading Ascential for more than 12 years, where he transformed Flywheel from a startup into a global e-commerce optimisation powerhouse.

His career spans leadership roles at Sky as managing director, global product leadership at Experian, and founding consumer intelligence firm ClarityBlue, later acquired by Experian. Painter has also held senior roles at Hitachi Data Systems and remains actively involved with The Prince’s Trust.

Painter noted that Omnicom’s data and technology reorganisation is aimed at supporting clients’ commercial priorities while strengthening the company’s growth path. With the integration of IPG assets such as Kinesso and Acxiom, he emphasised that the Omni platform will be significantly enhanced—positioning the combined entity for the next era of marketing, commerce, and data innovation.
