Delhi Ad Club announces winners of Excellence in Advertising Awards 2014
Innocean Worldwide India declared Agency of the Year; McCann wins Campaign of the Year Award; late Dr Vishwanath, Founder & Past President of Delhi Ad Club conferred with Lifetime Achievement Award
The most outstanding media initiatives of the year gone by were recognised and awarded at the Daily Excelsior and Lehar Advertising present DAC - Excellence in Advertising Awards 2014 awards, held in New Delhi on March 28.
Seventeen agencies received 40 DAC - Excellence in Advertising Awards this year. Innocean Worldwide India won the Agency of the Year Award. McCann, New Delhi walked away with the Campaign of the Year Award.
Late Dr Vishwanath, Founder and Past President of the Delhi Advertising Club, was conferred with the Lifetime Achievement Award, which was collected by his son, Anil Sharma, Managing Director, Interads Advertising from VK Chopra, Chief Patron, DAC.
The broad awards categories included Print Advertising, TV/ Radio Publicity, Outdoor Media and Print Material. Awards across 20 categories were presented to the winners selected by the jury out of 228 entries received from various advertising agencies of Delhi and NCR. The award winning agencies included Airads, Adsyndicate, Adman, Bubna, Crayons, Catalyst, Cytomed (Alkem), Graphisads, Havas, Interads, Infinity, Innocean, Linen (Lintas), McCann, Mode, Niyati and Span.
Speaking on the occasion, HS Paul, President, Delhi Advertising Club said, “Delhi is gradually emerging as the advertising capital of India, with major companies being headquartered in Delhi & NCR, besides a government advertising body like DAVP. According to industry estimates, if advertisers spend around Rs 30,000 crore in India, alone Delhi/NCR contributes to roughly 40 per cent, with release orders to the tune of around Rs 12,000 crore being signed out of Delhi.”
Paul further said, “Since its inception in 1991, Delhi Advertising Club’s Excellence in Advertising Awards is an endeavour to recognise the efforts and accomplishments of teams and individuals from the advertising fraternity here. These awards are not only a matter of honour for creative excellence, but have received tremendous support from media marketers and advertisers as well.”
He also appealed to the members present to come forward and become active members of the Club.
More than 500 executives from the advertising world attended the awards ceremony this year, who were welcomed by HS Paul; VK Chopra; Kailash Arora, Honorary Secretary, DAC; KK Malhotra, Honorary Treasurer; and RC Tanwar, Convenor - Programme Committee, Delhi Advertising Club. The main sponsors of the event were Daily Excelsior of Jammu and Lehar Advertising of New Delhi. The creative and media supporters were Graphisads, exchange4Media and Arohi Cinematics.
