Formula 1 star Charles Leclerc has officially launched ‘Sidequest,’ a creative studio co-founded with filmmaker Antoine Truchet and brand strategist Nicolas Jayr. What began as fan banter about the Ferrari driver’s off-track “side quests” has now evolved into a serious creative venture that’s capturing industry attention.

Leclerc says the name reflects his fans’ playful comments on his extracurricular pursuits: “I take pride in exploring beyond the circuit.” But Sidequest isn’t just another celebrity-backed project. With bases in Monaco and Amsterdam, it positions itself as a proper creative house rooted in European storytelling traditions and geared toward a global audience.

Beyond Traditional Sports Marketing

Rather than leaning on Leclerc’s fame alone, Sidequest aims to craft narratives that blend sport, culture, and emotion into stories that resonate beyond racing. The studio will take on projects spanning content creation, branded collaborations, design, and artistic initiatives—emphasizing narrative craft over celebrity gloss.

The trio’s skillset is complementary: Leclerc brings the athlete’s authentic perspective, Truchet shapes the visual storytelling, and Jayr directs the brand strategy. Together, they want to move away from manufactured athlete-brand tie-ups and deliver work that feels culturally grounded and emotionally real.

The European Edge

Sidequest’s bet lies in combining the raw drama of sport with the polish of brand storytelling, while infusing it with what Leclerc calls a distinctly “European sensibility.” In a landscape often dominated by American-style sports marketing, this approach could give the studio an edge; offering narratives that are more textured, artistic, and enduring.

If Sidequest delivers on its promise, it may redefine what an athlete-led creative studio can be: not just an extension of personal branding, but a storyteller in its own right.
