This week several developments dominated headlines. As IRS Q4 2019 was released we saw the top publications retaining lead positions, India Today dominating magazine readership and some regional newspapers witnessing a hike in total readership.

During the week, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also delivered his 5th COVID address to the nation, during which the Prime Minister announced an economic package for the country with a particular focus on MSMEs, small business and co-operative businesses. 

The past week also witnessed several account wins, people movements and industry developments. Publicis Worldwide announced that it will be shutting down one of its Bengaluru divisions since clients were getting most of their work done out of other centres like Mumbai. We also learnt that Duracell has awarded its global media account to MediaCom.

Stephen Allan has stepped down as Worldwide Chairman & CEO of MediaCom after 12 years. ZEE5 has appointed former Havas Media CEO Anita Nayyar as Head of Customer Strategy and Relationships. Volkswagen India has named Abbey Thomas as Head of Marketing.

Also during the week, Applause Entertainment appointed Yogesh Manwani as Head of Marketing & Revenue, while Shemaroo Entertainment appointed Sandeep Gupta as COO of their Broadcasting Business
