Burson Group, the global communications agency purpose-built to create value for clients through reputation, today announced the appointment of Kapil Sharma as Chief Client Officer in India. The appointment reflects Burson’s continued commitment to client excellence and reinforces its role as a strategic growth partner to clients. Kapil will report to Deepshikha Dharmaraj, CEO, Burson Group India. 

Kapil Sharma returns to Burson, where he began his career, as part of the firm’s prestigious Associate Learning Programme, with more than two decades of experience in strategic communications and reputation management for leading global brands. Prior to this role, Kapil spent over 12 years at Ford Motor Company, where he served as Head of Communications, India, leading the company’s corporate, brand, social, and CSR communications strategy. Most recently, Kapil was Director of Communications for International Markets Group, overseeing product communications across nine international markets, driving high-impact experiential campaigns, and leading integrated go-to-market initiatives in Bangkok, Thailand. Earlier in his career, Kapil spearheaded communications for BMW India.

As Chief Client Officer, Kapil will focus on strengthening and expanding relationships with Burson’s key clients, driving sustained growth, client retention and long-term value creation. He will also lead new business development efforts across high-growth sectors including automotive, aviation, travel, manufacturing, renewable energy, and professional services. As a member of Burson India’s Management Team, Kapil will partner closely with the firm’s leadership to advance its growth strategy and accelerate market expansion in India
