Montreal-based communications group AVENIR GLOBAL has acquired Marker Collective from Next 15 Group plc, strengthening its international footprint and expanding its presence in the technology communications sector.
The acquisition brings three specialist communications agencies – Archetype, Nectar and Outcast – under AVENIR GLOBAL, along with Delve, Marker’s proprietary AI-powered media intelligence platform. The move places AVENIR GLOBAL among the world’s 15 largest communications firms by revenue.
Marker has a workforce of approximately 650 employees spread across 20 offices in the US, the UK, continental Europe and Asia-Pacific. Following the acquisition, AVENIR GLOBAL’s global workforce will exceed 1,500 employees.
The three agencies will continue to operate with their individual expertise and client relationships while gaining access to shared resources and technology. Delve, which converts real-time news and social media coverage into insights for business leaders, is expected to play a central role in this integration.
AVENIR GLOBAL also plans to explore the use of Delve across its wider agency network to strengthen client services, improve campaign measurement and streamline workflows, enabling teams to dedicate more time to strategic and high-value client work.
Commenting on the acquisition, Jean-Pierre Vasseur, President and CEO of AVENIR GLOBAL, said the quality of Marker's talent, its established agency network, relationships with leading technology companies and proprietary technology were key factors behind the deal.
He added that the acquisition aligns with AVENIR GLOBAL's approach of investing in communications and advisory businesses that help organisations build trust, strengthen reputations and navigate change, particularly across sectors such as science, technology, healthcare, policy and capital.
For AVENIR GLOBAL, the deal also marks another step in its international expansion as the company celebrates its 50th anniversary.
Helena Maus, CEO of Marker Collective, said the acquisition reflects confidence in the agency group's people, clients and operating model, which brings together independent agencies through shared intelligence and technology.
She added that AVENIR GLOBAL's long-term approach to communications and its understanding of specialist agency businesses made it a suitable partner for Marker. The association will allow its agencies to retain their individual identities while creating opportunities for collaboration across markets.
Marker will continue to operate independently under Maus's leadership. Archetype, Nectar, Outcast and Delve will retain their respective identities, leadership teams, cultures and client focus.
The existing agency teams will continue to manage client relationships, with day-to-day operations remaining unchanged following the acquisition.
The deal builds on AVENIR GLOBAL's long-standing strategy of acquiring specialist communications businesses, supporting their growth while retaining the individual strengths and positioning of each agency.
