TV journalist Arpita Arya is likely to return to Network18, sparking fresh speculation within the media industry about possible changes in the anchoring lineup at News18 India.
According to sources, Arya has resigned from Aaj Tak and is expected to begin her second stint with the network. However, an official confirmation regarding her move has not yet been announced.
Industry buzz suggests that Arya may be assigned the 5PM slot on News18 India. The time band is currently occupied by senior anchor Rubika Liyaquat, who hosts the show Goonj as Consulting Editor and commands a strong viewership in that slot.
If Arya is indeed given the 5PM show, it could lead to a reshuffle in the channel’s programming schedule. Sources indicate that Liyaquat might be shifted to another time band, with some discussions hinting at a possible move to the 8 PM prime-time slot.
