Warner Music India has named Ashok Parwani as its new Head of Music for South India.
The move comes soon after Warner Music India acquired a majority stake in Divo, a leading digital media and music company focused on South Indian markets.
Parwani brings more than 40 years of industry experience, having worked across India, Sri Lanka and the UAE. A key highlight of his career includes a two-decade stint at Sony Music India, where he played an important role in shaping regional and national music strategies.
Commenting on the appointment, Jay Mehta, Managing Director, Warner Music India & SAARC, said that Parwani’s deep understanding of the region and strong industry relationships make him a natural fit for the role. He added that South India remains a critical growth market for the company, and Parwani’s leadership will support Warner Music India’s plans to nurture local talent and take Indian music to audiences around the world.
