Bureaucrat Tuhin Kanta Pandey has taken over as the 11th chairman of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi). Pandey replaces Madha Puri Buch whose tenure of three years ended on Friday.
Pandey is a 1987-batch IAS officer from the Odisha cadre. He holds an MA in Economics from Punjab University, Chandigarh and an MBA from the UK.
He has worked as Executive Director and Managing Director of Odisha State Finance Corporation and Odisha Small Industries Corporation, respectively.
On assuming office, Pandey reportedly told media that he will work towards fostering trust and transparency while promoting teamwork and technology.
