Sandipan Deb quits as Editor-in-Chief of ‘Open’
Sandipan Deb, the Editor-in-Chief of ‘Open’ magazine, has put in his papers. He had been with ‘Open’ for over two and a half year and was considered a pioneer in conceptualising the magazine. Deb was earlier with ‘Outlook’.

Commenting on the development, Raj Mohan, Publisher, ‘Open’, told exchange4media, “Sandipan Deb has conceptualised the magazine called ‘Open’, put together a brilliant editorial team, and has consistently produced a superb editorial product. The credit of the magazine’s acceptance today goes to him. He is a great writer and editor. Personally, I have been privileged to have worked with him.”
Confirming the news to exchange4media, Deb said, “I had a great time in ‘Open’ and with immense hard work we put together a great team. Quality wise, ‘Open’ is excellent. I have some personal projects and ideas of my own, which I will work on now. With ‘Open’, the work was so intense that I wanted some rest now. Now that the brand is established, ‘Open’ is in good hands.”
Manu Joseph will now don the mantle of his mentor Deb and become the new editorial head. Confirming the news, Raj Mohan said, “Manu Joseph has been with Sandipan right from the beginning in the journey called ‘Open’. Manu is our Deputy Editor, and we are glad that he is taking over as the Editor to take the brand forward. He is in complete sync with the philosophy and ethos of the brand.”

Rephrase.AI has appointed Jay Morzaria as Creative Head. He was earlier working as a Creative Director for OktoBuzz.
Morzaria has been in the advertising and marketing industry for over a decade now. Before OktoBuzz, he was with Spring Marketing Digital for seven months and before that with Schbang.
He also worked for Atom Network as a Creative Partner until November 2020. Prior to that, he spent 6 months with The Glitch.
Asked about his plans with Rephrase.AI, Morzaria said, “Whenever a new innovation comes about, it disrupts the normal way of doing things. I think, at the time, it’s important to assess what the future of that innovation would be and whether it is a passing trend or something that’s here to stay. I believe that GenAI is a long-term bet, and we are looking at a future where every creative person like me is just going to feel much more empowered. I have chosen to be an enabler of this wonderful innovation, and at Rephrase, my effort would be to add a creative touch to the videos generated for Rephrase and for its clients, as well as contribute to the overall marketing KRAs in terms of providing strategic creative input at various levels.”

Rajiv Makhni moves on from NDTV
He was with the channel for over 20 years

Rajiv Makhni has moved on from NDTV after a 20-year long stint with the news channel. He was on a conuslting role with the NDTV.
Confirming the same to exchange4media, Makhni said he would be making an announcement soon on his next venture.
“I am evaluating three offers. Will be announcing which one I am accepting within a few days.”
Makhni has been known for hosting shows like Gadget Guru, Cell Guru, NewsNet 3.0 and Walk the Tech Talk, which aired on NDTV Network.
As per sources, Youtuber Gaurav Chowdhary will be replacing Makhni in NDTV.

Previously, he was the Senior Director:Marketing for Mountain Dew, 7UP, Mirinda – International Beverages.

5paisa Capital Limited (5paisa.com) has appointed former Google, Uber and Amazon senior executive Mr. Narayan Gangadhar as Chief Executive Officer.
Gangadhar has over two decades of experience, mostly with global tech giants, based out of San Francisco Bay Area in the US.
He was the Head of Engineering at Uber managing over 1,000 innovators, building core engineering platforms, core APIs and cloud solutions to help Uber’s operations in over 500 cities across the world.
Earlier, Gangadhar was a Senior Director at Google helming the cloud engineering and infrastructure domains, where he was responsible for all external facing cluster computing products as well as in charge of backend infrastructure.
He has also worked with Amazon as Director of Engineering, where he built Amazon Relational Database Service. He started his career with Microsoft and worked in various engineering roles. Most recently, Gangadhar was CEO of Angel One.
