  • OpenAI has appointed Denise Dresser as its new Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), effective next week, to lead global revenue efforts and focus on enterprise growth and customer success.
  • Dresser previously served as CEO of Slack, where she oversaw its integration with Salesforce and initiatives related to AI workplace productivity.
  • She has over ten years of experience at Salesforce, including as President of Accelerated Industries, and has held leadership roles at Oracle.
  • Following Dresser's appointment, Rob Seaman, Slack's Chief Product Officer, will take on the role of interim CEO for the collaboration platform.

OpenAI has announced the appointment of Denise Dresser as its new Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). In her new role, she will lead the company’s global revenue efforts, focusing on enterprise growth and customer success. Dresser will join the organisation next week and will report to COO Brad Lightcap.

Dresser was most recently the CEO of Slack, where she spent over two years overseeing the company’s integration with Salesforce and driving initiatives around AI-powered workplace productivity. Before that, she worked at Salesforce for more than ten years, including a stint as President of Accelerated Industries, along with several other senior leadership roles. Earlier in her career, she was associated with Oracle as Regional Manager for Enterprise Performance Management.

Commenting on the appointment, Fidji Simo, CEO of Applications at OpenAI, said that the company aims to bring AI tools to professionals across industries, and Dresser’s experience in leading large-scale platform growth will be key to making AI practical and dependable for businesses worldwide.

Sharing her thoughts, Denise Dresser said she has spent her career helping expand category-leading platforms and is excited to apply that experience at OpenAI as it moves into its next stage of enterprise growth.

Following Dresser’s move, Slack’s Chief Product Officer, Rob Seaman, has been named interim CEO of the collaboration platform.
