NDTV has named Koreel Lahiri as its new Chief of Strategy and Innovation. He brings more than 25 years of experience across Asia’s content and capital markets, with strong expertise in strategy and a deep understanding of how the media industry is evolving.
 
Lahiri has previously held senior roles in financial journalism at Bloomberg TV India and CNBC TV18, worked on corporate strategy at The Times Group, and served as Investment Director – Asia at MDIF, where he led regional investments. His experience spans sectors such as media, creator-led platforms, edtech, civic tech and SaaS, with a sharp focus on engaging Gen Z and Gen Alpha audiences.
 
Over the years, he has managed investments worth over $250 million, helped raise Asia-focused micro funds, and supported strong growth in revenue and valuations for content and technology-led businesses.
 
In addition to investment leadership, Lahiri has advised and mentored several digital-first companies, including InMobi (Glance) and YourStory. He is also an active contributor to global platforms such as the Google News Startups Lab and Columbia University.
 
Commenting on the appointment, Rahul Kanwal, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of NDTV, said that as the network expands across digital platforms, creator ecosystems and global business experiences, it is important to bring in leaders who combine editorial insight with strategic thinking. He added that Koreel’s experience across capital markets and content innovation positions him well to help shape NDTV’s next stage of growth.
