- David Zakkam has been appointed as Senior Vice President – Analytics and Data Strategy at JioStar, a major OTT platform in India.
- Prior to this role, he served as Director – Data Science at Uber and briefly retired earlier this year to pursue personal interests, including AI training and writing a book.
- Zakkam brings over two decades of experience in the tech and eCommerce sectors, having previously worked at companies like Meta, Swiggy, Mu Sigma Inc., and Intel.

David Zakkam has taken on a new role and shared insights about his career development in a post on LinkedIn. He has joined JioStar as Senior Vice President – Analytics and Data Strategy.
Before joining JioStar, Zakkam served as Director – Data Science at Uber. After leaving Uber earlier this year, Zakkam briefly retired to pursue personal interests. During this period, he focused on AI training, music performances, and writing a book, according to his LinkedIn post. He also wrote:

I’ve joined JioStar as Senior Vice President and Head of Analytics & Data Strategy. The role is critical to helping the company reach its potential. The opportunity to shape how data and analytics fuel that journey was too compelling to pass up.
I want to be leading the charge to turn data into a true strategic edge, from recommendations to ad monetisation to understanding what makes great content tick for India and beyond.

Zakkam is a seasoned leader with over two decades of industry experience. He has deep familiarity with tech, digital, and eCommerce companies, and experience working across India, North America, and EMEA.
Before joining Uber, Zakkam was with Meta for over a year as Director – Data Science. He has also worked with Swiggy as Vice President – Analytics for three years, at Mu Sigma Inc. for over 10 years in various senior roles, and at Intel as Business Development Manager, among others.
