iris appoints Kavita Kapoor as Regional Digital Director of Ops

Creative innovation network iris has appointed Kavita Kapoor as Regional Digital Director of Operations to lead and grow the innovative technology capabilities out of the iris Delhi office. Kapoor will join in March 2013 and will report to Ashish Mathur, Managing Director, iris India.

Kapoor will drive the development of the agency’s global digital innovation production studio. Her role will help to further boost iris’ regional focus on creating ‘Participation Brands’, leveraging digital technologies to link the online universe with real-world, physical experiences.

Kapoor’s appointment completes iris Delhi’s current leadership team, following the appointment of Anirban Sen as Creative Director in June 2012 and Ashish Mathur as Managing Director in May 2011.

Prior to iris, Kapoor played a pivotal role in the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, where she was involved in a range of award-winning components of the London Olympic and Paralympic Games, including travel, volunteering and the iconic mascots Wenlock and Mandeville, which iris designed and created.

Trained as a software designer, Kapoor started her career in Fujitsu, where she was subsequently seconded into roles for a diverse range of media clients, including BBC and Sega, before moving on to Channel 4 Television in London.

Rajesh Ramachandran, the Editor-in-chief of The Tribune, has quit, according to media reports. May 13 will be his last day with the Chandigarh-based publication.

Ramachandran took charge as The Tribune’s Editor-in-chief in May 2018. Before joining The Tribune, he was the Editor-in-chief of Outlook.

Ramachandran has over three decades of experience as a journalist in dailies, magazines and even television news channels. Known for his political analysis and commentary, Ramachandran has done big breaking stories such as the coffin scam and the BALCO valuation scandal. He has had stints with some of the biggest news organisations such as The Times of India, The Economic Times, Hindustan Times, The Hindu, The India Today Group and NDTV.
