  • Rahul Jain, a 2005 IAS officer from Madhya Pradesh, has been appointed as Senior Adviser to the Executive Director (India) at the IMF in Washington DC.
  • He is currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and will take on this new role on a deputation basis for three years.

Rahul Jain, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 2005 Madhya Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as Senior Adviser to the Executive Director (India) at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington DC.

Jain, who is currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, has been appointed to the Joint Secretary-level captive post under the Department of Economic Affairs on a deputation basis for a period of three years.

According to the appointment order, Jain will advise India's Executive Director at the IMF on economic and financial matters and support India's engagement with the global financial institution.

An officer with more than two decades of administrative experience, Jain has held several key positions in the Madhya Pradesh government and the Union government. In his current role at the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, he oversees policy matters related to corporate governance and regulation.

Jain will assume his new responsibilities in Washington DC, under the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, for a three-year tenure.
