Richard McLaughlin Takes Charge as President – APAC, Japan & Greater China at Dell Technologies

Dell Technologies has appointed Richard (Rich) McLaughlin as President of its Asia Pacific, Japan & Greater China (APJC) region. He takes over from Peter Marrs, who will now move into a senior leadership position with Dell’s North America team.
 
In his new role, McLaughlin will lead overall strategy and sales operations across the APJC region. His responsibilities will cover markets including Australia and New Zealand, Greater China, India, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and South Asia & Emerging Markets. He will be based in the region and will report to Pete Trizzino, President of Global Sales.
 
Before this appointment, McLaughlin served as Senior Vice President within Dell’s sales organization, managing a global team that delivered technology solutions to multinational companies. Since joining Dell in 1999, he has held several senior roles, including Vice President for the Americas and Director of Global Accounts for financial services. Prior to Dell, he worked in sales leadership positions at IBM/Tivoli, Compuware, Princeton Softech, and NCR.
 
Pete Trizzino said McLaughlin’s international experience and customer-focused approach have delivered strong results globally. He added that he is confident McLaughlin will continue to drive growth in the APJC region. Trizzino also thanked Peter Marrs for his leadership and wished him success in his new role in North America.
 
McLaughlin said he is honored to lead the APJC business and looks forward to working with teams, customers, and partners across the region. He highlighted the strong portfolio of solutions and innovation culture at Dell, adding that the company is well positioned to help customers adopt AI technologies, streamline operations, and succeed in a rapidly changing technology environment.
 
Apart from his professional work, McLaughlin is passionate about mentoring teams, building strong customer partnerships, and contributing to community initiatives.
 
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers University College of Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics with a focus on Finance from Rutgers College, New Brunswick, New Jersey.
