Coca-Cola has reshaped its leadership structure. As part of the restructuring Sanket Ray has been assigned a wider, cross-regional responsibility starting March 31. Ray, who currently heads the India and Southwest Asia (INSWA) business, will step into a newly created role overseeing Emerging Large Markets, according to media reports. Under this expanded brief, he will be responsible for high-priority territories including Greater China and Mongolia, as well as Japan and South Korea, while continuing to lead the INSWA operations.
This leadership realignment forms part of a larger organisational overhaul ahead of Henrique Braun taking charge as chief executive on March 31. As part of the transition, the beverage major is instituting two newly defined market clusters that will report directly to Braun, a move designed to sharpen decision-making and improve execution across Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
On the changes, the reports quoted the company as saying said that Ray will oversee markets spanning India, Southwest Asia, Greater China, Mongolia, Japan and South Korea in his dual capacity as President of the India and Southwest Asia operating unit and Emerging Large Markets Lead.
