The departure marks another significant change in the agency's senior leadership structure. Mandeep Sharma had joined the Samsung-owned advertising firm in mid-2024, initially overseeing the Samsung account for Cheil India before his elevation to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) position.
Sharma brings considerable industry experience to his career, having previously worked with major agency networks. His background includes senior positions at McCann Worldgroup's MRM division, as well as stints at JWT's Thompson Connect and Ogilvy One. His professional focus has centered on customer relationship management, engagement strategies, and product development across both client and agency environments.
This exit continues a pattern of senior-level departures at the organization. Earlier this year, Chief Growth Officer Neeraj Bassi left the agency after managing business expansion and overseeing creative, media, and activation functions for Cheil X.
Prior to that, Sanjeev Jasani departed as COO of Cheil India and Southwest Asia earlier this year. Jasani had been with the company since mid-2015, starting as Chief Digital Officer before being promoted to COO in early 2020.
When contacted for comment, Cheil India declined to provide a statement on the matter. Details regarding Sharma's future plans have not been disclosed at this time.
