- Avanade has appointed Achal Kataria as the Managing Director and CEO of Avanade India, effective immediately, to enhance the company's growth in the region.
- Kataria will oversee business strategy and operations, focusing on accelerating growth and helping organizations achieve measurable outcomes from digital and AI transformation.
- With over 30 years of experience in technology services and enterprise transformation, Kataria previously led Cognizant's India business and has held senior roles at EXL, Tech Mahindra, Genpact, and Hughes Software Systems.
- Avanade aims to strengthen its local presence in India by expanding capabilities and collaborating with Microsoft and Accenture to support organizations in their AI and cloud transformation efforts.
Avanade has appointed Achal Kataria as the Managing Director and CEO of Avanade India, effective immediately.
Before joining Avanade, he led Cognizant’s India business. Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership positions at EXL, Tech Mahindra, Genpact and Hughes Software Systems.
In the new role, Kataria will lead Avanade's business strategy and operations in the country, working closely with clients, partners and employees to accelerate growth, strengthen market presence and help organizations realize measurable business outcomes from digital and AI transformation.

Kataria brings more than three decades of experience across technology services, enterprise transformation, global operations and commercial leadership. His experience spans industries including banking, insurance, healthcare, manufacturing, telecommunications and life sciences.
