LiveMedia named ‘OOH Media Owner of the Year’

The third edition of exchange4media OOH Awards 2013 bestowed the title of ‘OOH Media Owner of the Year’ on Rajan Mehta’s LiveMedia.
Mehta, the Founder and CEO, started LiveMedia in July 2006. It has successfully raised two rounds of funding from Draper Fisher Jurvetson and Bay Partners.
The company has pioneered the concept of ‘captive audience networks’ in India and is creating an alternate channel for communication to reach out to customer segments.
The LiveMedia network is one of the largest in India and spans over 2900 locations through 6000 screens, spread over 80 cities and towns and addressing over 60 million footfalls in a month.
Talking to exchange4media on winning the ‘OOH Media Owner of the Year’ award, Mehta said, “I feel honoured and humble at same time to get this award. It is also a recognition of the digital industry which is just six years old.”
He also stated that there is over supply of media everywhere, so for the industry and jury to recognise coming of digital age is a great sign that they are finding value in it.
Before starting LiveMedia, Mehta was Vice President and Member of the Board of Directors for India of Nortel Networks. In Nortel, Mehta held positions as diverse as Executive Assistant to the President for Asia-Pacific and Director-Business Development for India. Prior to joining Nortel Networks, Mehta worked for companies such as Motorola, Ascom, Crompton Greaves, and Pertech Computers.
Last year, exchange4media ‘OOH Media Owner of the Year’ title was awarded to JCDecaux.
The exchange4media OOH Conference and Awards took place on March 22, 2013 in Gurgaon.
