Tata Communications Ltd. now handles the recording and broadcasting of 80% of the world’s sporting events, as per media a report by Bloomberg. This move is in lines with a 2022 acquisition of a U.S.-based live production and video transmission company.
Tata Communications’ Vice-President and Global Media head Dhaval Ponda said in an interview, that the acquisition of Switch Enterprises LLC in 2022 has contributed to Tata generating content for events such as Formula 1, World Rally Championship, DP World Tour, the South Korean league and Sail GP.
“We are largely becoming a virtual stadium of the world,” Ponda was quoted in the report.
