Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific announced the launch of three new channels in India at the recently concluded Goafest. These include a new concept Hindi entertainment channel ID – Investigation Discovery, and two differentiated channels – TLC HD World and Animal Planet HD World.
In an interaction with exchange4media, Arjan Hoekstra, President and Managing Director, Discover Networks shares the objective behind launching the three news channels.
Highlighting the importance of India as a market, Hoekstra said, “I look at India as one of the biggest growth markets for Discovery in the Asia-Pacific. It has shown to be incredibly high performing in all the important aspects. We will keep investing in India as one of our priority markets in the Asia-Pacific and have very high hopes for the future.”
Based in Singapore, Hoekstra is responsible for developing the overall strategies for Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific’s business to drive revenue across advertising and affiliate sales, build the portfolio’s core brands and look for partnerships to drive the content and profile of DNAP within the region.
