Associated Broadcasting Company Ltd (ABCL), which operates the TV9 Network, has reported a sharp turnaround in its financial performance for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2024. The company posted a net profit of Rs 56.5 crore, compared to a loss of Rs 7.94 crore in FY23, marking a significant recovery driven by strong growth in core revenue streams.
Total revenue from operations rose 12.2% year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 706.02 crore in FY24, up from Rs 629.82 crore in the previous fiscal. The improvement was led by robust growth in advertisement income, which increased 9.7% to Rs 602.35 crore, and sale of content, which surged 32.8% to Rs 87.97 crore.
Other operating income sources, such as sublet of space and advertisement commission, contributed Rs 15.69 crore in FY24, marginally higher than Rs 14.84 crore a year ago.
On the expenditure front, total expenses rose just 4.7% YoY to Rs 654.32 crore, from Rs 624.91 crore in FY23. The gap between revenue and cost expansion helped the company return to profitability after a challenging FY23.
