Sun TV to hike ad rates of Telugu channels by up to 43 pc

Sun TV Network has announced on BSE website that it will increase the ad rates of it Telugu channels from April 1, 2011.

Sun TV to hike ad rates of Telugu channels by up to 43 pc

TV broadcaster Sun TV Network Ltd has announced on the BSE website that it will increase the ad rates of its Telugu channels from April 1, 2011 onwards.

As per the announcement, the hike will apply to Telugu channels including Gemini TV ad rage from 6 per cent to 13 per cent, while for the other Telugu channels – Gemini Movies, Gemini Music, Gemini News, Gemini Comedy, Khushi – the hike will range from 9 per cent to 43 per cent, all effective from April 1, 2011. The slot fees (broadcast fees) received from content will also be increased accordingly.

It may be recalled that on February 8, 2011, Sun TV Network had informed BSE about the ad rate hikes for its flagship Tamil channel Sun TV ranging from 8 per cent to 32 per cent. The ad rates were also increased across the board for other Tamil channels such as KTV, Sun Music, Sun News, Chutti and Adhitya.
