  • Sun TV Network reported a Q4FY26 revenue of Rs 882.51 crore, a 2.4% increase sequentially but a 6.3% decline year-on-year.
  • Total income for the quarter was Rs 982.21 crore, down 17% YoY but stable compared to the previous quarter.
  • Profit after tax for Q4FY26 was Rs 331.04 crore, up 2% QoQ but down 10.8% YoY; profit before tax fell 28.9% YoY to Rs 389.20 crore.
  • For the full year FY26, revenue from operations increased by 7.8% to Rs 4,334.82 crore, but profit after tax decreased by 15.4% to Rs 1,440.63 crore, indicating pressure on margins due to rising costs.

Chennai-based Sun TV Network reported a muted Q4FY26 performance, with revenue inching up sequentially but declining on a year-on-year basis, while full-year numbers showed steady growth.

For the quarter ended March 31, 2026, revenue from operations stood at Rs 882.51 crore, up 2.4% QoQ from Rs 862.16 crore but down 6.3% YoY from Rs 941.81 crore.

Total income for the quarter came in at Rs 982.21 crore, slipping 17% YoY from Rs 1,182.06 crore, though broadly stable sequentially (Rs 999.27 crore in Q3).

On the profitability front, the company reported a profit after tax of Rs 331.04 crore, up marginally by about 2% QoQ (Rs 324.33 crore), but down 10.8% YoY from Rs 371.09 crore.

Operating performance remained under pressure, with total expenses rising to Rs 593.01 crore, up 6.2% QoQ and down 6.6% YoY.

Profit before tax stood at Rs 389.20 crore, declining 28.9% YoY from Rs 547.14 crore and down 11.7% sequentially.

It may be noted that while the Group’s underlying operating performance remained stable during the quarter despite a challenging external environment, reported profitability for the current quarter was impacted by certain non-recurring items, including mark-to-market provisioning on mutual fund investments and impairment recognised in respect of investments in one of the radio investees. Further, the current quarter excludes one-off interest income that was recorded under other income during the previous quarter ended March 2025, the company said in a release.

Full-year performance

For the full year FY26, Sun TV Network reported revenue from operations of Rs 4,334.82 crore, marking a 7.8% increase over Rs 4,019.87 crore in FY25.

Total income rose to Rs 4,900.47 crore, up 3.9% YoY from Rs 4,718.69 crore.

However, profitability declined during the year. Profit after tax came in at Rs 1,440.63 crore, down 15.4% from Rs 1,703.42 crore in FY25.

Profit before tax also dropped to Rs 2,043.35 crore from Rs 2,277.32 crore, a decline of 10.3% YoY.

Overall, while Sun TV Network managed to deliver steady revenue growth for the full year, margins remained under pressure amid higher costs and softer other income, reflecting a challenging operating environment.
