HMVL Q4 net profit declines 39% to nearly Rs 28 crore; revenue up 18%

Hindustan Media Ventures Ltd (HMVL) reported a decline in consolidated net profit for the quarter and financial year ended March 31, 2026, despite improvement in operating performance.

Revenue from operations for Q4 FY26 rose 18.7 per cent year-on-year to Rs 215.53 crore from Rs 181.61 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Sequentially, revenue increased 17.6 per cent from Rs 183.28 crore in Q3 FY26.

Total income for the quarter stood at Rs 229.49 crore, compared with Rs 234.12 crore in Q4 FY25 and Rs 207.10 crore in the previous quarter.

EBITDA from continuing operations increased to Rs 79.31 crore in Q4 FY26 from Rs 76.12 crore a year ago and Rs 43.92 crore in the December quarter.

Profit before tax from continuing operations stood at Rs 71.96 crore compared with Rs 69.93 crore in Q4 FY25 and Rs 22.78 crore in Q3 FY26.

Profit after tax from continuing operations came in at Rs 61.88 crore for the March quarter against Rs 71.82 crore in the year-ago period and Rs 19.08 crore in the previous quarter.

The company reported a loss of Rs 34.40 crore from discontinued operations during the quarter, resulting in consolidated net profit declining to Rs 27.48 crore from Rs 45.40 crore in Q4 FY25.

For FY26, revenue from operations increased 9.9 per cent to Rs 739.64 crore from Rs 673.10 crore in FY25.

EBITDA for the year rose to Rs 204.10 crore compared with Rs 198.12 crore in the previous fiscal.

Profit before tax from continuing operations stood at Rs 166.22 crore in FY26 against Rs 170.94 crore in FY25.

Profit after tax from continuing operations declined to Rs 141.08 crore from Rs 164.99 crore a year earlier.

Loss after tax from discontinued operations widened to Rs 92.39 crore in FY26 from Rs 87.21 crore in FY25.

Consequently, consolidated net profit for FY26 fell to Rs 48.69 crore compared with Rs 77.78 crore in the previous financial year.
