Sony has announced the addition of 200 local broadcast stations for the big four networks — ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC — to its PlayStation Vue TV subscription service, say reports. The 200 channels are spread across select markets. However, while some Vue subscribers can only get one or two of the channels, some will get none at all depending on the areas.
With this latest development, Sony claims that Vue offers more than 450 ABC, CBS, Fox, and NBC stations throughout the US.
Also, Sony added ESPN College Extra as an optional add-on service for Vue for sports fans.
These additions are seen as Sony’s way of trying to up programming choices on Vue after having lost Viacom networks, Comedy Central and Nickelodeon. This recent development of getting a slew of local stations nationwide also goes against the idea that Vue’s content options are shrinking.
