RIL-Disney JV: Krishnan Kutty to lead south entertainment cluster

Krishnan Kutty has been appointed as the Head of the Entertainment Cluster (South) for the new Reliance-Disney joint venture, tasked with expanding and strengthening the JV’s footprint across South Indian markets.

Kutty, who currently heads Business and Content for TV and Digital across South India and Maharashtra for Disney Star, brings extensive experience in managing regional portfolios and driving engagement in key markets. At Disney Star, he oversees prominent channels such as Star Suvarna, Star Maa, Asianet, Vijay TV, and Star Pravah, along with Disney+ Hotstar's regional specials.

In his new role, Kutty will lead a specialized team focused on each regional market in the South, as well as digital strategy and business planning.

His team will include 6 key leaders.

Sushma Rajesh, who will be responsible for the Kannada business across platforms.

Balachandran R, who will manage the Tamil business across platforms.

Raghava Vaidyula will be overseeing the Telugu business across platforms.

Kishan Kumar to be in charge of the Malayalam business across platforms,.

Himabindu Chitta, will lead digital growth strategy across South markets.

Lastly, Prachi Mohapatra will be esponsible for business planning for the cluster.

Kutty’s leadership and strategic expertise will be instrumental in steering the JV's South entertainment portfolio,. With a team dedicated to each key South Indian market, Kutty is positioned to elevate the JV’s entertainment offerings and capture a broader audience base, further establishing its influence in India’s regional media landscape.
