Hindi news channel News India has announced that Chairman Shailendra Sharma has stepped down from his position. The development was confirmed through an official press release issued by the organisation.
The resignation comes amid recent discussions surrounding the channel’s leadership and administrative matters. The development marks a notable change in its ongoing management situation.
In his official communication, Sharma cited concerns related to the organisation’s functioning and the discharge of responsibilities as reasons for his decision. He noted that certain operational decisions were not in line with established processes and said he felt it was appropriate to step down under the circumstances.
According to the channel, Sharma served as Chairman for around 14 months before stepping down. The management added that he will continue to be associated with the organisation in the role of Patron.

Industry observers expect further changes in News India’s leadership structure in the coming weeks as the organisation moves to stabilise its management framework.
