As speculation intensifies around the top job at a leading content & IP creation studio in Mumbai, seasoned industry leader Monisha Singh has emerged as one of the top contenders, sources say.

While there is no official confirmation, she is understood to be among a wider set of candidates, as the studio evaluates leadership for its next phase of growth.

Backed by a large conglomerate, the film production house has been scaling its presence in OTT, films and IP-led storytelling—making the CEO appointment a critical strategic decision.

Singh brings over two decades of experience across television, film, digital and OTT, positioning her as a hybrid content and business leader. Her stint at BookMyShow saw her build original content and drive engagement, while at Zoom TV she led the channel to leadership in the Bollywood and lifestyle genre through a mix of programming and branded content innovation.

Her earlier work with Balaji Telefilms and UTV ties her to some of Indian television’s most successful IPs, alongside experience in launching youth and kids’ channels later acquired by The Walt Disney Company. More recently, her work with Rainshine Entertainment and projects for Audible reflect a shift toward podcasts and new-age storytelling formats.

Industry executives say the content studio may be looking for a leader who can blend creative instincts with commercial discipline as the business pivots toward profitability and scalable IP. If Singh’s appointment materialises, it could signal a sharper push toward platform-agnostic storytelling and diversified formats.

For now, her name remains part of ongoing speculation—but one that underscores the kind of leadership profile studios are increasingly betting on.
