I envision Zee as a beacon of hope and change: Punit Goenka

Zee MD and CEO Punit Goenka on Tuesday outlined his vision for the company’s future, stating that he envisions Zee as a “beacon of hope and change in society.”

In a townhall conducted on Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL)’s 32nd anniversary, Goenka addressed the employees in a candid session. He said, “When I look at Zee’s 32 years later, I envision the company to be a beacon of hope and change in society. I see us delivering on our commitment of driving societal progress through our entertainment experiences, and I see us realizing our true vision which should be to bring about a positive change in people’s lives through purposeful entertainment.”

“Zee and the Private Satellite Television industry marked the completion of 32 years of entertainment, which propelled the M&E Industry that has reached INR 2 trillion plus today and continues to grow rapidly,” Zee said in a statement.

Speaking to his employees on the occasion, Goenka said, “Today, we are not just celebrating our company’s birthday, but we are also marking the foundation day of this 2 trillion-rupee rapidly growing industry.”

“Together, we have shaped the landscape of entertainment in India and stayed true to our commitment of narrating compelling stories, pushing the boundaries of creativity and connecting with billions of hearts in meaningful ways,” he said.

Emphasizing on the DNA of Zee, he said the company feels bigger than a company. “What we have built is a family,” he said.

Reflecting on the company's achievements, Goenka emphasized that for the past 32 years, ZEE has prioritized its customers and delivered positive experiences. This approach has allowed the company to showcase India’s unique culture and traditions, reinforcing its mission to bring families together, he said.

Observing that the industry has transformed significantly over the last 32 years, Goenka said that Zee has adapted to these changes time and again, “growing stronger, more dynamic and forward-thinking.”

“In fact, our ability to reinvent ourselves and stay ahead of the curve is a testament to the strength and vision of our team and defines who we are at ZEE,” he said.
