I&B Ministry cautions MSO applicants about false claims on license procedures
The Ministry has advised MSO applicants to avoid dealing with unauthorised persons approaching them with false claims of expediting license procedures. Ministry reassured transparency on its end in issuance of MSO licenses
The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting recently issued a notice with regards to the transparency in the licensing process from MSOs to operate in the DAS notified area of Cable TV. The letter said that the ministry had noticed that there were some people approaching MSO applicants with false claims that they would provide MSO licenses if they paid some “gratification/bribe” to get the work done.
The letter on their website reassured MSO applicants that the Ministry adopts a very transparent way in dealing with the issuance of MSO licenses. The letter further mentioned that as per requirement, MSO applications with all details furnished are forwarded to Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) for obtaining Security Clearance. As soon as the requisite Security Clearance or otherwise is received from MHA, each case is processed, accordingly.
The Ministry advised MSO applicants to not deal with such “unauthorised/mischievous persons”. This Ministry organises Open House Meeting, every Tuesday at 11:00 am in the Room of Director (BP&L) Room No.662, A Wing 6th Floor Shastri Bhavan, New Delhi. “For any doubt or enquiry about status of their applications, they may participate/attend the Open House Meeting by sending an email at firstname.lastname@example.org or at email@example.com,” the notice informed.
