Ashish Bagga has resigned as Group CEO of India Today Group. He was part of the group for 15 years. Prior to being the CEO, he was the additional director of TV Today Network from August, 2013 till March, 2014.


In the transition period all those who directly report to him will now report to Kalli Purie and Dinesh Bhatia.


Bagga started his career with the India Today Group in 1983 and was responsible for launching Music Today, the video magazine on current affairs, Newstrack, and the four vernaculars editions - Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam - of India Today.


Before re-joining the India Today Group in 2001, Bagga briefly served as President & CEO with Business Standard's e-initiative, in association with Financial Times, London.


Bagga has spearheaded the group’s foray into a diversified multimedia play with e-commerce, transit retail and education besides direct to consumer and the digital business. He has forged strong relationships for ITG with leading international media groups such as US based Hearst Corp, Germany’s Axel Springer and Daily Mail of UK.


Much respected in the media space, Bagga is also the President of NBA and has served as the president of Indian Newspaper Society (INS) and the Association of Indian Magazines (AIM) in the past. He was also Director (Marketing) at Hindustan Times.


He holds an MBA from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management.
