BARC Week 14: Colors Kannada, Asianet, Sun TV, Star Maa bag top slots in South

Sun TV has bagged third position across genre, with 892 million impressions

The Week 14 data of Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India has been released. In the across genre category, Sun TV bagged the third position among top 10 channels with 892 million impressions. Star Maa bagged the fifth spot with 687 million impressions. Colors Kannada, Asianet, Star Maa, SUN TV retained their positions in their respective markets.  

 

Kannada

Colors Kannada held the first spot in Kannada GEC category with 415 million impressions. Zee Kannada came second with 389 million impressions, followed by Udaya TV with 197 million impressions. Star Suvarna bagged the fourth spot with 157 million impressions. Udaya Movies came fifth with 132 million expressions.   

In the Kannada programme category, first four places were bagged by Colors Kannada with KGF Chapter 1 movie premiere bagging the first spot with 6 million impressions.

 

Malayalam

In Week 14, Asianet bagged the first spot in Malayalam GEC category with 255 million impressions. Flowers TV clinched the second spot with 122 million impressions followed by Mazhavil Manorama with 118 million impressions. Surya TV came fourth with 83 million impressions followed by Asianet Movies with 61 million impressions.

Prime-time serials of Asianet bagged the top 5 positions in the Malayalam programme category.

 

Tamil

Market leader Sun TV came first with 826 million impressions in the Tamil GEC category. Star Vijay came second with 499 million impressions followed by Zee Tamil on third spot with 480 million impressions. KTV with 259 million impressions bagged the fourth spot and Star Sports 1 Tamil bagged the fifth spot with 149 million impressions.

In the programme category, Zee Tamil’s prime-time serial Sembaruthi bagged the first spot with 10 million impressions followed by Sun TV’s Naayagi with 9 million impressions.  

 

Telugu

Star Maa came first in the Telugu GEC category with 649 million impressions followed by ETV with 453.4 million impressions. Zee Telugu bagged the third spot with 453 million impressions followed by Gemini TV at the fourth spot with 414 million impressions. Star Maa movies came fifth with 235 million impressions.

Star Maa bagged the top 5 positions in the programme category with channel’s Karthika Deepam bagging the first spot with 10 million impressions.
