Balaji Telefilms Q4 income down 11 per cent
Reduction in turnover from regional and south programming has hit Balaji Telefilms’ income from operations. The company has reported a negative EBITDA
Balaji Telefilms has reported an 11 per cent slide in its income from operations for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2012 at Rs 2,784 lakh from Rs 3,111 lakh in the previous quarter. This dip is due to reduction in turnover from regional and south programming by Rs 136 lakh and reduction in commissioned programming by Rs 191 lakh.
The company has reported a negative EBITDA of Rs 164 lakh in Q4 FY12 as against a negative EBITDA of Rs 172 lakh in the previous quarter.
On the other hand, profit after tax increased to Rs 154 lakh in Q4 from a profit after tax of Rs 112 lakh in the quarter ended December 31, 2011.
Realisation per hour from commissioned programming reduced to Rs 18.60 lakh as against Rs 19.96 lakh in the previous quarter, while realisation per hour from sponsored programming reduced from Rs 3.26 lakh in the previous quarter to Rs 1.91 lakh per hour in the current quarter.
Hours of commissioned programmes remained constant at 120 hours, while hours of sponsored programmes increased from 94.50 hours in the previous quarter to 126 hours in the current quarter.
Balaji Motion Pictures achieved a turnover of Rs 5,844 lakh as against Rs 4,169 lakh during the previous fiscal. In the current financial year, Balaji Motion Pictures has reported a profit of Rs 883 lakh as against a profit of Rs 232 lakh for the previous fiscal year.
