Alok Kumar joins news18.com as executive editor
In his previous assignment, Kumar was working with Live India as Editor of the English News Section. He has covered many breaking stories for the organisation
Alok Kumar has quit Live India to join Network 18. He has been appointed as the executive editor of news18.com, company’s website. He has worked as the Editor of the English News Section of Live India.
Kumar is a 2001 alumni of Indian Institute of Mass Communication. He started his career with Netjaal.com. He moved to UNI in 2002 and looked after the Desk and Reporting for two years. He was then transferred to the Head Office of UNI in New Delhi. After working with the Business, Sports and General Desk for two years, he joined BBC.
Kumar was associated with BBC’s Delhi Office and looked after the radio and online section department for four years. He has to his name many breaking stories. These stories include the case of the then Union Minister of Railways, Laloo Prasad Yadav’s in-laws’ travelling in the train without a ticket and Child trafficking of children during flood in Bihar.
He also looked after the business page of BBC’s Hindi website.
Kumar joined Sahara Media Group in 2010. He re-launched the group’s Hindi and English websites and was in-charge for the same.
