Head of 91.9 Friends FM since 2014, Tangree has been much more than just a DJ. His impact on the radio industry goes beyond playing tracks; he’s been instrumental in strategizing content, setting up radio stations, and connecting brands to audiences both in India and abroad.

Tangree’s journey began back in 1983 when he started as a DJ, bringing life to parties and events long before radio caught his attention. By 1994, he had ventured into the world of radio, where his voice became synonymous with Kolkata’s entertainment scene. Over the years, his expertise took him across various roles — from Deputy Manager Production at Times FM (1994–2000) to Country Head – Content, Broadcast Software Division at Saregama PLC (2000–2002), and then as Station Head of Digital Radio Kolkata Ltd RED FM 93.5 for nearly 12 years before joining Friends FM.

Tangree’s understanding of the radio ecosystem isn’t just limited to playing music. He has contributed significantly to the technical setup of radio studios, content curation, and the implementation of brand strategies for radio stations. His ability to adapt and innovate in an ever-evolving media landscape has earned him a loyal listener base and the respect of industry peers.
