HT Media unveils their digital newsrooms
HT Media which publishes three major dailies named Hindustan Times, Hindustan and Mint has gone through a major revamp. The group has revamped its newsrooms and made them more integrated and contemporary keeping in mind the ever advancing technological set-ups.
New Editorial work style
In order to make quick decisions and real-time feedback, the newsroom has customised infrastructure. Editorial meetings will not happen on bean bags or reclining chairs, the newly designed meeting table is in place for a quick meeting while standing.
Different monitors are in place to check real time traffic on the website from all the sources such as Google news, direct click on the websites and visits from the social media page. The analytics indicate who is consuming what and for how long. The best part is the entire team has the access to these monitors.
Digital is the way forward
As part of this revamp, the entire editorial team of HT media will sit under one roof. The new digital newsroom will see the integration of print and digital news operations across all their titles in order to deliver the best of journalism across platforms.
The thought process is that their digital products will need the full weight of their editorial teams behind them in real-time, and their print products will become sharper and even more relevant. The newsroom is designed with all the latest machines and comes in with smart tech for users so they can leverage best of content. It been has designed to emphasise, transparency, the speed of communication and integrated work flow. It has an integrated content management system method from Eidos Media for efficient converged digital and print workflow and more effective print production processes.
Benoy Roychowdhury, Executive Director, HT Media said that they are moving to the digital world and in a transition phase and hopefully it will also help them in monetizing the audience.
