Veteran journalist Janak Raj Singh, also founding member of Press Enclave, is no more. He passed away on Thursday.

Janak Raj Singh was a senior political journalist, serving for over three decades with The Times of India. 

He had reported on key events like the 1971 India–Pakistan War. He also broke several major stories from the Prime Minister’s Office and Parliament, and frequently accompanied Prime Ministers on official visits across India and abroad.

Singh was also an accomplished author. Among his many works were ‘The Messiah of the Downtrodden’, a biography of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, a novel - ‘Scavenger’s Daughter’. 

Industry peers noted that his passing marks the end of an era in Indian political journalism. He will be remembered for his integrity, scholarship, and outstanding contribution to the profession.
