The coffee-table book Revolutionary Raj: Narendra Modi’s 25 Years, authored by senior journalist, Padma Shri awardee and noted writer Alok Mehta, was formally launched at a dignified ceremony held at the Constitution Club of India in New Delhi on February 21, 2026. The event witnessed the presence of several prominent personalities from the fields of politics, governance and media.

Among the chief guests were Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri, economist and Chairman of the 15th Finance Commission N. K. Singh, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh, and former Union Minister K. J. Alphons. Speakers at the event described the book as an important work for understanding India’s contemporary political landscape. The programme was moderated by Dr. Annurag Batra, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of BW Businessworld and Founder of the exchange4media Group.

Published by Shubhi Publications, the coffee-table book focuses on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public life, tracing his journey from leadership in Gujarat to steering the country at the national level. The book presents an analysis of his political, administrative and ideological trajectory. A key highlight of the publication is its foreword, written by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Addressing the gathering, Arif Mohammad Khan reflected on his evolving perspective on Prime Minister Modi’s leadership. He said that following the 2002 Godhra incident, he had been a critic of Modi during his tenure as Gujarat’s Chief Minister. However, after spending time in Gujarat and interacting with people from diverse communities, his views underwent a significant change. Khan emphasized the need to assess Modi’s leadership within a broader context and described the abolition of triple talaq as a historic social reform whose impact would be felt for years to come.

Hardeep Singh Puri highlighted India’s economic transformation, noting that the country’s economy, valued at nearly $2 trillion in 2014, has grown to approximately $4.3 trillion today. He expressed confidence that if the current growth momentum continues, India is poised to become the world’s third-largest economy in the near future. He added that the nation is currently undergoing a period of significant transformation.

Other speakers also described the book as an important documentation of Prime Minister Modi’s 25 years in public life, stating that it would serve as a valuable reference for understanding India’s political and administrative evolution in contemporary times.

Speaking on the occasion, Alok Mehta said the objective behind the book was to present a factual and analytical account of the political and administrative changes witnessed over the past 25 years. He noted that the book attempts to examine multiple dimensions of governance,  including rural development, social welfare initiatives, economic reforms and India’s role on the global stage,  through a comprehensive and balanced perspective.
