MIB unveils 'Create in India Challenge' ahead of Waves 2025 Summit

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (I&B) has announced the 'Create in India Challenge' as part of its preparations for the Waves 2025 Summit. This initiative, aimed at fostering creativity and innovation, will spotlight India's growing stature as a global leader in the media and entertainment sectors.

The Waves 2025 Summit, organized by the Government of India, celebrates India's dynamic creative economy and aims to amplify its global impact.
The summit will have four cornerstone:

1. Waves Reel Making Challenge in collaboration with Meta, promoting short video creativity.
2. Waves Explorer Challenge powered by YouTube, highlighting innovative content exploration.
3. Waves Chronicles: AI Comic Art Challenge, organized with Google Play, merging artificial intelligence and storytelling.
4. Waves AI Art Installation Challenge, showcasing the convergence of technology and artistic expression.

These initiatives seek to bring together creators, technologists, and visionaries to explore new intersections of art, storytelling, and technology.

The Waves 2025 Summit is set to serve as a global stage for India’s creative talent, encouraging collaborations across industries. It will spotlight advancements in animation, gaming, entertainment technology, and regional and mainstream cinema, positioning India as a content creation powerhouse. The Prime Minister’s emphasis on nurturing the creative economy underscores the government’s commitment to making India a global media and entertainment leader.

The WAVES 2025 summit was scheduled to take place from February 5 to February 9 in New Delhi. The MIB flagship event is now expected to be held between the last week of April and the first week of May in Mumbai, according to the media reports.
