IWPC elections: Sujatha Raghavan elected as President

The results of the 2026-27 elections for the Indian Women's Press Corps (IWPC), the premier organization for women journalists, have been announced. According to the results released, Sujata Raghavan has been elected as President while Sujata Mathur and Sushma Verma have been elected Vice Presidents.
The election results were officially released on April 11, 2026, in New Delhi. Following the completion of the election process, all office bearers and executive committee members have been declared elected unopposed. While Saroj Dhulia has become General Secretary, Suman Parmar has been elected Joint Secretary while Parul Sharma has been elected Treasurer.
In addition, 21 members were selected for the executive committee. These include Aditi Nigam, Amiti Sen, Anju Grover, Anu Shakti, Aruna Singh, Bhasha Singh, Fozia Yasin, Geeta Shree, Huma Siddiqui, Kavita Bajeli Dutt, Malini Srivastava, Mrinal Ballari, Neerja Vakil, Nisha Singh, Preeti Prakash, Saraswati Chakraborty, Shivani Rawat, Shobhana Jain, T.K. Rajlaxmi, Vibha Joshi, and Yogita Yadav.
According to the Election Commission, the nomination process was completed under a notification issued on March 16, 2026, and nominations received by April 2, 2026, were displayed at the IWPC office. Following the withdrawal of nominations on April 4, all candidates were elected unopposed.
