Lodestar UM has yet again launched a three-part podcast series, Generational Zeitgeist - Challenge the Narrative, in collaboration with e4m, offering an insightful, research-backed look at the aspirations and experiences of Indian Gen Z women.

The series features conversations between Aditi Mishra, CEO, Lodestar UM, and Kulanath Kaushik from Lodestar UM’s strategy team, who also hosts the podcasts.

The opening episode spotlights the realities faced by Gen Z women today, from navigating technology’s impact on self-esteem, redefining womanhood and family roles, to the pursuit of financial independence. The discussions reveal a generation seeking authenticity, equality, and self-determination.

“We reached out to about 250 Gen Zs, largely women, and conducted 40 in-depth interviews,” said Kulanath Kaushik. “That gave us close to 30 hours of rich conversations, which form the foundation of these podcasts”.

A key theme explored is technology’s double-edged role. “AI can never beat humans. Even for AI to learn and train, you need humans,” shared one Gen Z participant, reflecting the cohort’s balanced view of productivity gains and threats.

The podcast also touches upon the pressures of social media. As GenZ candidly admits, “I see a reel for two minutes and I get bored… my attention span has dropped so much. Social media gives us inspiration, but it also creates self-doubt”.

Running close to an hour in length, the episode sets the tone for the series, offering marketers and brands research-backed insights into the aspirations and lived experiences of India’s Gen Z women.
