  • Typsy Beauty has secured ₹20 crore in funding, led by US-based venture capital firm Saama Capital, with participation from Sanjay Kapoor and SRF Family Office, among others.
  • Founded in 2022 by Kairavi Bharat Ram, Typsy Beauty aims to provide high-quality beauty products that resonate with Indian consumers, filling a gap in the domestic market for premium offerings.
  • The brand has developed a range of innovative products, including India's first foundation-concealer hybrid and a lipstick-liner combination, and currently offers 27 SKUs across various beauty categories.
  • The new funding will be used to enhance distribution, expand into skincare, and grow the fragrance sub-brand, Spritz by Typsy, with over ten new products planned for release.

Typsy Beauty has announced a ₹20 crore funding round led by Saama Capital, a US-based venture capital firm with over two decades of experience backing consumer brands in India.

The round also saw participation from Sanjay Kapoor, founder of Genesis Luxury and an early backer of the brand, and SRF Family Office. The brand’s existing investor base includes the family offices of Havells and Eicher Motors and Tanaaz Bhatia of Borderline Media.

Typsy Beauty was born from a personal reckoning. Founder Kairavi Bharat Ram discovered the power of makeup during a difficult period in her life - it became a source of confidence and self-expression when little else was. As a beauty content creator, she noticed something that stayed with her: her audience wanted her to use Indian brands, but the products available domestically fell short of the quality, personality, and excitement of what existed internationally. That gap became the founding idea behind Typsy Beauty.

Since its founding in 2022, Typsy Beauty has built its reputation on identifying emerging global beauty formats early and bringing them to Indian consumers first - at mass-premium price points (₹600–900). The brand’s formulations are developed in partnership with the same international laboratories that manufacture for globally recognized names such as Rare Beauty, Tarte, and Rhode, ensuring that quality is never traded off for accessibility. This approach has produced a string of category-first products: Foundcealer (India’s first foundation-concealer hybrid), Twist & Pout (a lipstick-liner combination), and Pout Cloud (a lip colour that merges pigment with balm-like comfort).

The brand currently operates a portfolio of 27 SKUs across lips, eyes, face, and fragrance. Typsy Beauty is available on its direct-to-consumer website, typsybeauty.com, and across major platforms including Nykaa, Amazon, Myntra, Flipkart, Tira, Blinkit, and Zepto.

The fresh capital will be deployed across three priorities: scaling distribution with a deeper push into quick-commerce and offline retail; expanding into skincare with the brand’s first hybrid skincare-makeup launches; and growing Spritz by Typsy, the fragrance sub-brand launched earlier this year. More than ten new products are planned for the coming months.

Kairavi Bharat Ram, Founder of Typsy Beauty, said: “Typsy started because I couldn’t find an Indian brand that made me feel the way my favourite international products did. We set out to change that - not by cutting corners on formulation, but by partnering with the best labs in the world and bringing those products to India at prices that don’t shut people out. This funding lets us do that across more categories and for many more consumers.”

Shashank Tibrewal, Co-Founder of Typsy Beauty, said: “We’ve built a business with strong fundamentals - healthy contribution margins and a repeatable growth playbook across eight marketplaces. This investment gives us the resources to accelerate into new categories and wider distribution while maintaining the discipline that got us here.”

Amrita Barthakur, Partner at Saama Capital said: “Typsy Beauty has demonstrated what happens when strong product instinct meets operational discipline. The team has identified genuine whitespace in India’s beauty market and filled it with products that compete with international brands on quality while remaining accessible. We’re excited to back Kairavi, Shashank, and the team as they scale this vision.”
